On 23rd June, Sainsbury's hosted a debate on the future of cooking. Chaired by John Humphrys, the panel debated the barriers and challenges to cooking, and look at the issue of whether anyone will still be cooking in 2030. Sainsbury’s also announced an investment of £3 million over the next three years in essential cooking equipment and ingredients for schools , through its Active Kids scheme, taking the total amount invested by the supermarket to nearly £6 million by 2012.
